Is the GPS locator on the iPhone 3G Google Maps free?

Is the GPS locator on the Maps application on the iPhone free? If you type in a direction it shows a little blue dot and tracks where you are going. I just want to know it AT&T will charge me for using the GPS locator or if it is free.

gps tracking on an iphone 3G?

I’m thinking of buying an iphone 3G because my other phone was stolen so i have a few questions about the iphone security that i hope someone can answer.

1) I’ve been reading that the iphone has apps that can make it trackable by GPS but i also read that it’s possible for the thief to delete the app and problem solved(for the thief) he can’t be tracked, is this true?

2)Is it true that there is no possible way to track an iphone when it’s turned off? and if the iphone is turned off for a long time, but then turned on like a month afterwards can i still track it down?

3)Is there any app that can make the iphone turn on from my computer so i can make it retrackable?

3)What can At&t do to track down a stolen iphone?

4)Is there a way to delete all my personal information before the theif sees it(like calling At&t or something)

5)If i do get my iphone stolen with no way of getting it tracked down, is there any password protection app or program i can install in the iphone to block anyone from getting into it(not the one included with the iphone since it can be easily bypassed by going into restore mode[i saw it on youtube])

6)Does it make a difference security wise if i buy an 8gb or 16gb iphone?
unfortunately the passcode from the iphone 3G can be easily bypassed by leaving the home and power button(goes into restore mode) and you can restore it to factory sealed settings from itunes, so i was wondering if theres an app to put a passcode that doesn’t have that problem

How to track my spouse whereabouts? We dont drive…. Can I put a GPS tracker ……?

My significant other takes the train all the time and is always coming home late. We have 5 kids together. A P.I. is too much money and I want to find out what is going on. Can I put it in a pair of sneakers?? In a T-mobile dash cellphone?? In the jacket lining? In a watch?? on a few stacks on bills? on a penny and drop it in the jacket pocket? Something that wont look obvious. Someone please give some details & websites on how to go about this.

question about a usb gps, how does it work, do you need internet access for it to use the gps function?

I have a netbook, and i wanted to buy a usb gps for my netbook. So i have a few questions cause i am confused on how it works.
1.Do i need Internet access so i can map where i am going?
2. What kind of gps usb is recommended within price limit.
3. Is their anything else i need to know before i buy a new gps usb?

If I left a GPS in my car, can I track it from the internet ?

I wonder if I could buy a GPS like this:

Is the Globalsat BT-359 GPS receiver sold by Cingular/AT&T compatible with non Cingular/AT&T device?

Cingular/AT&T is selling the Globalsat BT-359 Bluetooth GPS receiver with its own Cingular packaging. I was wondering if it is the same model as the one sold in the "regular box".

I saw the Cingular one at a good price on eBay. Would it work with my non-Cingular PDA? Should I go ahead and buy it?
